About Thor

Thor Yorham doesn’t talk about resilience from a distance. He lives it.

Diagnosed late in life with progressive multiple sclerosis, Thor found himself driven to the edge. He nearly checked out. The sudden realization that life is brief, precious, and meant to be fully embraced — the good and the bad, without fear — changed him forever.

This became the foundation of everything he teaches: the day he chose to wake up on purpose. Not through trendy manifesting or motivational shortcuts — but by cultivating a burning desire for life and an unshakeable commitment to the only three things any of us can actually control:

our Actions, our Choices, and our Emotional responses.

This ACE framework sits at the heart of Thor’s coaching and keynote work. His PIVOT methodology (pause, interrupt, validate, consider options, then take action) puts everything into motion.

Thor spent years turning these ideas, and others, into actionable frameworks and methodologies for high-performers navigating challenging circumstances — athletes, first responders, military veterans facing deployment or transitioning into civilian life, healthcare workers, and anyone who’s ever had to perform at their best while carrying something heavy.

Before stepping into coaching and speaking, Thor worked in the construction industry while quietly building a parallel life as a writer. He wrote a book strong enough to land a top literary agent. Then MS got in the way. The manuscript never made it to publication. That experience — pouring everything into something and watching circumstances close the door — turned out to be its own kind of education in resilience, one no certification program could replicate.

This journey shows up in everything Thor does — in the precision of his language, the structure of his stories, and his refusal to let vague inspiration pass for real guidance. He speaks the way he coaches: directly, without filler, with the kind of honesty that actually changes something.

Thor lives with his wife and dog in a modest farmhouse in central Wisconsin, surrounded by trees and grass and birds and deer, and an interloping woodchuck whose days are numbered. Despite limited mobility, he recently completed work on a wood-and-wire fence. Himself. Next year, he’ll start on the greenhouse. All from a walker and wheelchair.

His 2026 keynote Waking Up On Purpose is available for conferences, team-building events, athletics player engagement programs, leadership retreats, and more. He offers coaching and mentoring, and virtual locker room resets as well.
